To look at a file, click its name. Shed shows images, PDFs, video, audio, Office documents and plain text in the browser, so you can check it is the right one before you take a copy. To keep a copy, press Download.
Click the name. Office documents are shown as a PDF made from the original, so what you see is close to it but not the file itself. A long text file or spreadsheet shows its first part, with a line saying so.
Camera masters, ProRes, MXF, AVI and MKV do not play in a browser. The first time someone opens one, Shed makes a smaller copy that does, at 540 lines, and plays that. It says so under the player. While the copy is being made the page shows how far along it is, and offers Play the original anyway if you would rather not wait.
Under the player is a strip of frames from the video: click along it to jump through a long clip without scrubbing. The original is never touched, and Download always gives you the master, not the smaller copy.
In the viewer, the left and right arrow keys move through the folder, and Back to the folder returns you. Some kinds have no preview; download those to open them on your computer.
On a file, press Download, in the viewer or in the row's ··· menu. On a folder, press Fetch as ZIP: Shed builds the ZIP as it sends, so a large folder starts straight away rather than making you wait.
To take several things at once, tick them and use the bucket. See Collect files from different folders.
Your level is View, which is browsing, searching and previewing only. An Admin at your company can change that. See Invite someone and choose what they can do.
Opening a file is recorded in Activity, the same as a download: who, what and when. Your owners can see that record.
Tell us which libraries or drives are full and roughly how large they are. We size a shed, set up the first sweep with you, and most are running within a week.
