To get back something you removed from the shed, press Bin on Files, or open Settings, then Bin. Anything there can be restored for 90 days. After that it is deleted for good, and only a snapshot could bring it back. Restoring needs Change level or above.
Find the item and press Restore. It returns to the folder it was in, under its own name. Each row shows where it was, when it was binned, and the day it goes for good.
Restore and Put back are different things. Restore brings something back inside the shed, from the bin to the folder it came from. Put back copies a folder out of the shed into SharePoint or Google Drive. See Put a folder back into SharePoint.
Anything removed from the shed itself: files and folders someone binned, and copies cleared out by Spring clean. It is not the SharePoint recycle bin, and it is not your Mac's Trash. Copies cleared out by Spring clean land here too: see Clear out copies of the same file. Removing a file in SharePoint has nothing to do with this bin.
The bin counts towards your shed's size until it empties. A large clear-out shows in your usage until those 90 days have passed.
Press Remove now on its row. It is gone at once, with only a snapshot behind it. Only an Admin can do this.
That split is deliberate, and it is worth knowing why. Anyone at Change level can move things to the bin, because that is ordinary tidying and it is reversible for 90 days. Making something unrecoverable is a different act, so it sits with Admins alone. It means no single person can both delete an archive and destroy it.
Every move to the bin, restore and removal is recorded in Activity with who did it.
