Your files are kept as ordinary files on storage we own and run in Melbourne, Australia. They sit in a folder that belongs to your company alone. The storage uses a filesystem with checksums on every block, so silent corruption is caught, and it takes a snapshot of your folder every night. Snapshots are kept for 30 days and cannot be deleted by anyone, including us, for the first 14 days.
A second, encrypted copy of your shed is sent to [OFF-SITE PROVIDER AND REGION]. It is encrypted before it leaves our building, with a key the provider never sees. We test restoring from it every quarter and write down the result.
If your company or your clients need the off-site copy to stay in the United Kingdom or the European Union, we can put it in [UK/EU PROVIDER AND REGION] instead. The primary copy still lives in Melbourne. Ask when you ask for a shed, or any time after.
People at your company who sign in with your company's Microsoft or Google account, and the person or people who run Shed for maintenance and support. Every look is recorded. Nobody else.
